Here at Junior's Workshop, we are more than just a garage — we are part of the Hitchin community. We know that the true heart of our town lies in its people, especially those who dedicate their lives to caring for others. For Junior, this is personal. With his wife working in the NHS, he sees firsthand the dedication, the long hours, and the incredible pressures our healthcare and care workers face every single day. That is why we believe it is our turn to help look after you.
Our commitment began with a story we could not ignore. We learned of a dedicated elderly care worker in our community whose car was, for her, a lifeline. It was her only way to get to the people who depended on her.
Her car was old, worn, and failed its MOT. Facing repair costs she simply could not afford, she was left with an impossible choice: risk driving an unsafe vehicle or lose her job. When her car was inevitably stopped and impounded, her lifeline was cut. Unable to afford the ongoing cost of public transport, she lost her livelihood.
When Junior heard what had happened, he knew he could not stand by. He went out, found a wonderfully reliable Toyota Yaris, and got to work. He serviced it, tuned it, and made sure it was safe and dependable. Then, he gave her the keys. Just like that, she was able to return to the job she loved, and a mission for our workshop was born.
That single act of community spirit has grown into a core part of who we are. It inspired us to create two ongoing initiatives to support the incredible people who support us all.

Inspired by that first Toyota, we now carry on the tradition. Every year, we find a solid, reliable second-hand car, bring it into our workshop, and give it a complete overhaul to ensure it is in perfect mechanical health. We then donate it, free of charge, to an NHS worker who needs it most.

Special NHS pricing applies across everything we do: MOT tests (£50), car servicing, bodywork repair, Ford wet timing belt replacement, car and engine diagnostics, brakes, clutches, tyres, cambelts, exhaust repairs, suspension work, oil changes, and fleet maintenance.
We offer a free online booking system — no payment required upfront. Book your appointment, bring the car in, and Junior will inspect it, explain what needs doing, and quote you on the spot. Some customers prefer to request a quote first via WhatsApp on +44 7700 106919 before booking.
